Parents Day 2017

Parents Day 2017

Parents Day 2017 is on July 23rd

Parents Day is a combination of Fathers Day and Mothers Day. The parents day is celebrated on fourth Sunday of July.
The origins of Parent's Day is derived back to the Thirties. beginning in 1930, some Christian communities began to celebrate day or Parents' Day. This tradition was combined with Korea's ancient Confucianism culture to eventually establish day. In 1956, the State Council of South Korea selected might eighth as associate degree annual day. However, the question of the day was mentioned and on March thirtieth, 1973, might eighth was selected as Parents' Day underneath Presidential Decree 6615, or the rules regarding numerous Holidays. When Parents' Day was initial established, the complete week with the eighth day was selected to be per week to respect the senior, however respecting elders within the month of might was abolished in 1997 with Oct changing into the month selected for respecting the senior.

Why Students should celebrate Parents Day

If you are a primary, elementary, high school, or secondary school teacher, I believe it's important thatyou not only engage your students, but also their parents or guardians. You don't need to contact parents all the time to let them know what you're doing, but parental engagement is important in helping your students become successful. Don't get me wrong, I know some parents or guardians will not be as engaged as others. But we need to make them aware of ways that we're trying to help their children or child learn.

I can think of no better way of doing this than making materials available on- and offline for them to review. And maybe learn alongside their children. There are quite a few benefits for making our media-rich content available to parents or guardians. The first is that students and parents can access the materials when they need to access the materials. This way, parents learn what they need to know quickly and easily.

A great example of this is the materials you can find right here at Lynda.com. You select the area of study you feel that you are weak in and use the courses to help improve your skills. With this technology, parents can learn alongside their students. For example, in my school, I work with a French teacher, using Adobe Presenter to make a course available so parents can help their Year Seven student learn how to speak French. Another benefit is portability.

Nearly every student has a mobile and it has become easier to access your materials 24 hours a day, regardless of where they are. This can be the same for parents or guardians. We can give parents access to the content so they know what their children should be learning, and when they should have comprehended the materials by. Giving the parents access to the materials provides much more interactive engagement at parent-teacher conferences. Imagine being able to show parents what their children should be learning instead of just telling them and hoping that they understand.

And this is just so important, especially if you have a diverse community where many different languages are spoken. And lastly, peace of mind. As a parent, there's no greater feeling than knowing that others have an invested interest in your child. As a parent, also, knowing that you have access to the type of materials your child is learning is priceless, because not only does it give you the opportunity to help.
